Running in the rain

So last weekend Dan had “fun” running in muddy fields for 50 miles in the frigid cold rain. It was called the Round Rotherham. He finished in just under 10 hours which was great considering the awful conditions. A ton of people dropped out of the race and I don’t blame them. I helped out at a few of the aid stations–refilling cups of water and making tuna sandwiches and hot tea for the runners– and by the 30th mile everyone was drenched… especially those walking the race. But Dan had a great time, even though he was hobbling around like an old man for a few days following the race. And what’s the first thing he does when we’ve got access to the internet again? Sign up for a 100 mile race. Oh yes!
