dan & anna’s adventures

About

Hi, I’m Anna. I’m from the San Francisco Bay area and spent my childhood summers camping in Yosemite. My geologist mother was helicoptered into remote areas of Alaska each year to do field work. She passed on her love for the outdoors to me. At age 13 I went backpacking for the first time. We spent 10 days in the gorgeous Adirondacks of Upstate New York. Forget NYC, this was the life for me.

Hi, I’m Dan. I’m a Britalian – my mum’s from England and my dad’s from Italy. I grew up in the foothills of the Italian Alps. In the winter, we’d head into the mountains to sled on plastic tablecloths. After moving to England, my brother and I would backpack in the countryside. In my 20s I fell in love with ultra running and now compete whenever I get the chance. I came in 8th place in my first 100 mile run.

We just finished hiking the PACIFIC CREST TRAIL!

This pilgrimage of discovery was prompted by our love for beauty, simplicity and creation.

    Hi there Dan and Anna,

What a walk! I’m so envious!
It looks like you are doing so well and enjoying every bit of it.

Here’s one of my mad ideas. As we are in California in August we just wondered where you’d be and whether we’d cross your trail.

Most unlikely but thought I’d ask the question.

    Lots o luv.

    James and family

Hi, Great to meet you both on the PCT by Paynes Lake. Your goal of hiking the whole PCT really impressed Max, our 10 year old grandson. I was 12 when I first backpacked. It will be fun following your progress over the next couple of months. Any favorite stops in the Seirras? We are ready to hit the trail again.

Glad to hear from you all! The food you gave us was delish! As far as the Sierras, King’s Canyon NP is gorgeous as is Thousand Island Lake.

We are planning a trip to Kings Canyon for next year. Your recommendation firmed up the plans. Next week we may go to Grizzly Lake in the Trinity Alps. We’ll continue to follow your blog. I visited Thousand Island Lake when I was in high school. It is beautiful.
